Churdhar - The Silver Bangle Peak Trek

Churdhar Peak (elevation of 3,647 metres; 11,965 feet) is the highest peak in Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh and is also the highest peak in the outer Himalayas. The peak has a great religious significance for the people of Sirmour, Shimla, Chaupal and Solan of Himachal Pradesh and Dehradun of Uttrakhand. Churdhar is a holy place related with Shri Shirgul Maharaj (Chureshwar Maharaj), a deity widely worshipped in Sirmour and Chaupal.

The Churdhar Peak is mentioned in the book, The Great Arc, by John Keay but is referred to as The Chur.

Itinerary

Day1 : Chandigarh - Pab
The day will start with an early morning check out from the hotel and will drive to Pab (elevation of Pab 2000m) from Pab an Km hike to Jade ki Karai where you will have your picnic lunch . After lunch we will doing 2km acclimatization walk to Jiunthi (2450m). Where You will be staying in the alpine camp for a night with the Bonfire .

Highlights of the day:

Today morning we will walk around the Jiunthi village and you will get chance to share your wake up tea with the locals. Jiunthi offer panoramic view of the Shivalik ranges of the Himalayas.

After breakfast we will proceed to Churdhar (lunch will be packed). Today we have to walk around 5-6 hours (13 km) from Jiunthi to Bherog/Tisri where we will camp for a night and will enjoy the Bonfire.. Elevation of Bherog/ Tisri is around 3200m.

The day will start with an early wake up tea after we will proceed to Churdhar top for the sunrise (3km). We will spend half an hour at the Churdhar top after we will walk down to Churdhar where will have our breakfast.
Elevation of Churdhar top is arround 3,647m above sea level. After breakfast we will descend to Madhalani (6km). We will have our lunch at Madhalani. From Madhalani back to Gyankot overnight stay in Gyankot. ( Alpine camp).

Highlights of the day:

After breakfast will walk down to the Giri River after spending some time at the river will drive to Chandigarh.
